The Challenge

Their need was to have an external team of developers to help them with the development of several of their services : the ‘no-show’ (management of the clients that are not showing up to their appointment), booking appointments with family doctors and registering to a walk-in service. The business turned to Done to accelerate the development and launch of these new features.

Our Solution

Done has developed the ‘no-show’ part of the project that manages patients who have planned an appointment and do not show up. This module is used for adding (patient, appointment, transaction) as well as cancelling a ‘no-show’ (patient, appointment, reason). This service also allows the reception of payment confirmations, the verification of a patient’s debt status and the management of patients who have a ‘wildcard’. A payment module has also been developed to manage transactions. The Web interface, including the mobile version, is linked to Moneris which accepts Interac and credit card payments.

In addition, we implemented a new scheduling system that allows patients to make an appointment with their family doctor without having to call the clinic. The system sends faxes and even automated calls allowing the patient to simply fill out a web form to make an appointment. A similar system has been set up for walk-in.
