The Challenge

Solotech wanted to implement a 24/7 automated monitoring solution of their audio-visual equipment to ensure a proper communication between them.

The objective was to obtain their status in real time, produce usage reports, respond to user support requests in real time and be able to troubleshoot them remotely without needing a technician on-site.

The solution will allow Solotech to distinguish itself from the competition by being more proactive in its interventions and to better manage its equipment.

Our Solution

Service+, a local communication service with a customized protocol, has been implemented to bridge the gap between the equipment installed at Solotech’s customers’ premises and the new web-based monitoring platform.

This service allows the transmission of equipment status and the receipt of commands for remote control, while respecting the security constraints related to the network. The platform detects problematic situations in real time and launches alerts that are integrated into Solotech’s CRM for follow-up.

Here are some of the impacts from our intervention:

  • Development of the solution
  • Software development best practices
  • Accelerated proof of concept
  • Decrease in hardware costs
  • New business opportunities
  • Increased competitiveness in the audiovisual market
  • Work methods that facilitate the collaboration of several multidisciplinary teams

Solotech’s Service+ subscriptions opens a whole new set of doors with a service offering that stands out from the competition.

Client testimonial

“Solotech is proud to have partnered with Done in the development of its service product, Service+. We had access to expertise that we did not have in-house, and this allowed us to launch our first version in a few months. Done employs best practices in software development, which includes adjusting priorities as the project progresses. With the dynamism of the business world, we were able to change the order of development of features based on the results of our market tests directly on the development platform. The regular communication over the weeks allowed us to keep a clear and accurate track throughout the project. We are satisfied with the result and are looking forward to the next release.”
