The Problems Encountered
At Tag, a team is dedicated to locating reported stolen vehicles using their specialized equipment and radiofrequency data. Based on signal strength, employees move from the search area to the vehicle’s exact location.
However, signal strength and the employee’s GPS location were displayed in two separate applications, which had to be consulted simultaneously. Furthermore, communication between team members was handled via text messages. This division of attention made it harder to concentrate while driving and reduced search efficiency.
The Challenges
The identified challenges were as follows:
- Simplicity is key: employees must be able to trust the application to gather the right data and make quick decisions.
- Screens are small and positioned far from the driver (often in front of the passenger seat).
